Pancake’s journey began with a heartbreaking sight in Madinah. Lying helplessly on the ground, Pancake was completely unable to stand or move. A generous sister visiting from the UK spotted him right before she was set to travel home for summer holidays. Realizing he could not survive another day on the street, she immediately stepped in—hand-feeding him water and food while rushing him to emergency veterinary care. Overcoming the Odds X-rays revealed severe trauma: a broken front leg, a broken hind leg, and a dislocated joint. The kind sister paid over 6,000 SAR out of pocket so Pancake could undergo urgent surgery just to have a chance at standing again. Though Pancake’s medical journey was complicated and full of challenges, he was brought into a safe, patient environment where he received round-the-clock love, physical monitoring, and attentive care. Because she could not survive on the streets, she lived safely inside a cage at Atebba Veterinary Clinic for over six months. Finding Her Home & Her New Name During a routine clinic visit for one of our clients' pets, we met Flash. Seeing her gentle eyes and remarkable resilience, we knew she couldn't spend her life inside a clinic cage—and she could never survive outdoors. We opened our home to her right away, and given her constant, adorable wobbly movement, her name quickly evolved from Flash to Shakira! During a routine visit to Atebba Veterinary Clinic in Madinah, we saw a cat in unbearable pain. Mimi was terrified and nearly hopeless. She wasn't born with a disability—her condition was the result of a horrific tragedy. She had been attacked by a dog, leaving both of her hind legs broken and her stomach severely torn. An Act of Mercy By Allah’s grace, Dr. Mohamed from Atebba Clinic crossed paths with Mimi at her lowest moment. Despite his immense and busy schedule, Dr. Mohamed immediately performed emergency surgery to save her life, carefully repairing her stomach and treating her legs. He fed and cared for her around the clock when she had no one else. Resilience, Care, and Recovery Seeing her fight to live, we knew Mimi deserved a safe and loving future. At first, we tried configuring a custom wheelchair for her, but Mimi preferred her own way of moving around! Through endless patience, close monitoring, proper medication, and daily diaper changes, Mimi’s spirit shone through. She has made a miraculous recovery, but due to her paralysis and diaper needs, she can never survive on the street again. On a serene Taraweeh night near Masjid an-Nabawi, amidst the prayers and atmosphere of mercy in Madinah, a tiny kitten’s life changed forever. Cookie was just a helpless baby when a playful accident left him with a severely broken jaw and in immense pain. The Journey to Recovery Rescued and brought into emergency care, Cookie underwent delicate surgeries to heal his jaw. To save his life and keep him free from pain, veterinarians had to remove most of his teeth. Because of this, Cookie can no longer chew hard food or crunch on standard dry kibble. He relies entirely on specialized soft wet food, cut into tiny, gentle bites that he can swallow easily and safely. A Heart Full of Pure Love Despite the traumatic start to his life, Cookie holds no fear or bitterness. He is one of the most gentle, playful, and affectionate cats you will ever meet. He has a unique gift—anyone who meets Cookie instantly falls in love with him, and he makes friends with other rescue cats in a heartbeat.
